Coming of Age
In Ancient greece, the ceremony of coming of age was held when a child was born. The child is given gifts, riddles and symbols of adulthood. In cities like Sparta and Crete, adolescent boys endure mentoring with adult men, who teach them adult-like skills and values, such as hunting, martial arts, and fine arts.

Some ceremonies and rituals were performed at altars, which were dedicated to gods, civilians leave food, drinks and precious objects to the gods. Animal sacrifices, the offals of the animals are left, for an offering to the gods. Sacrifices were performed with hymn and prayers.

Weddings

In Ancient Greece, for the marriage to be legal, the woman's father or guardian would give permission to a suitable man who could afford to marry. Marriages in winter were popular. The couple participated in a ceremony which included rituals such as veil removal but the couple living together made the marriage legal.
