The Nutrition in Ancient Greece was well-balanced and based largely on products that could be easily cultivated in Greece’s landscape. Bread and wine were the basic elements. The meals of the day normally consisted of bread,wine, olives, figs, fruits and fish. Meat was very expensive and was only available to poor people during religious festivals, when cows or pigs were sacrificed to the gods, then the meat was cooked and handed to the public. Their main source of protein was fish.
